Back to the Land of the Living...

So we made it back safely to the U.S.  Which means back to the land of busy schedules, chores, and constant Internet access.  I hope to catch up with the posts in the next couple of days.  It gets a little tricky/time consuming when you work with two cameras.  I took time last night to insure that I have all of the pictures from one camera saved to the computer.  Tonight I hope to move the remaining pictures from the smaller camera.  I am also patiently waiting for the pictures that Jorge took on the Little Boat Sailing adventure that we took.  That was a great trip...after I completely lost it on the trip leaving the Reef.  I was so embarrassed!  I do not have strong sea legs yet!

A Worldwind 5 Days

This has been an amazing five days!  We started out early in Memphis on Friday morning, three flights later, and one crazy taxi ride later we were sitting down to dinner at the Bananakeet.  So thankful that they made us a late reservation.  It was amazing.

We had the Crab Sushi as an appetizer, Jason had their Seafood Pasta, and I had the Coconut Rum Shrimp.  It was a wonderful meal.  Christina at The Heritage Inn was a wonderful host.  She grew up on Jost Van Dyke so she helped us in making some last minute arrangements.

This was the view of Jost Van Dyke from our room at The Heritage Inn.

A view of Tortola from our room.

More views from the room.

I love the pool and bar combination.

Views of Tortola.

Smyrna was kind enough to take us to the Ferry and then she came and picked us up on Monday to take us to the Airport.  She even played some classic Country Music!

Waiting on the Ferry to Jost.

Loading the Ferry (lots of beer)!

And we are off to Jost!

Being with out Internet service has caused a backlog of pictures and post to put up.  So needless to say I am a few days behind!

2012 Caribbean Trip So Far...

We have been having a blast!  Tortola was an eventful stay, Christina at the Heritage Inn was full of lots of advice for us for our time on Jost Van Dyke.  She helped us arrange a ride to get a few items, a ride to the Ferry, a ride at the Ferry once we got to Jost, and a rental car.  We made it through security twice with no problems (the TSA Blog is a wonderful tool), the flights were all on time, they even showed a great movie to make the flight time go faster while flying to San Juan (This Means War is a cute movie)...more to come later...Jason wants a beer!

As the days pass by, I find myself thinking more and more of our trip!  I think of posts that I want to write, status updates for Facebook, and pictures that I hope to take.  So strange - I know!  I am just weird like that!

I really must get to work on my  packing lists.  We have a very early flight out, and I want to make sure that I do not miss a thing!

In just a few short weeks, we will wake up on the island of Tortola and begin our journey to Jost Van Dyke!  I have never been so excited.  Jost Van Dyke is our dream destination.  It is the reason we found Vieques.  From all the pictures, videos, etc. that I have seen online, the two spots are very similar.

The only thing we have left to do is to pack.  All of our arrangements have been made and confirmed.  We even have a dinner reservation for the first night in Tortola!  So pictures will come soon!

What a day on the Island looks like!

Three full days spent on Isla Nena! It has been great! We have been able to enjoy our afternoons on the beach. The rain has moved in during the late afternoons forcing us to head into town for an early dinner both days. Yesterday, was the only day that we were not able to really get out and enjoy the water. So we just went around the Island taking pictures. I will be posting those soon.

Two very happy people!

Here is our home away from home. This is Navio. I do love Ababor Suites!

A Jeep lover can't go without their Jeep! Something with 4-wheel drive is a must in these parts. We almost had to use it when trying to get out of a parking place!

I feel it is necessary to enjoy the morning coffee on the beach!

This is where I like to have my morning coffee. Wonderful and relaxing!

The great driver. He will go anywhere!

A great place to stock up on supplies.

And now you know what kind of supplies were needed!

The first afternoon was spent on Playa Plata. This was our favorite beach last year. There were a few people on the beach. I am sure it was because it was the weekend. Last year, we did not find this beach until our last day which was on Friday, and no one was on this beach!

And the rain says it's time to pack it up! It's not always sunny in paradise...

And the rain sends you to seek shelter. My view from my favorite bar stool at Duffy's.

On my favorite list of beers. This is brewed by Old Harbor Brewery in San Juan. They have a nice brewery/brew pub in Old San Juan. We did visit it last year.

Heaven...We are here...

So excited to be sitting in our little piece of heavan. We have been here long enough to realize that Air Tran has re-defined the term gate-check, find the entire SEC Conferenece in the bottom of the San Juan Airport, have an adventure in picking up the rental Jeep, make new friends (imagine that!), find standing water in Navio that requires Jason to clean it up...find the problem...and fix it..., people saying that we as a family need to be quoted with our expressions, and end up at Duffy's two extremely happy people! Love hearing the waves as I type...

Jason should be quoted with his reply to the leak at Navio...Lionel said,"...happens!" Jason said, "Let's be honest we both know SHIT HAPPENS. SHIT just follows me!!!" Jason then offerred him a Medalla. Love, love Vieques!
