Ok...Need a New Blog

I know I need to do some updating...so, look for more of the pictures of the vacation and brewing pictures as well!

So here are some more pictues...they are couple over that last two days. Yesterday, we went to the location of the old bunkers. Needless to say, Jason found a small (I would not even call it a road) dirt path, and found this bunker.

I was too afraid to get out of the Jeep. All I could think about was snakes.

And then we stopped by the 300 year old Silk Cotton Wood Tree. Amazing...

On our way back to town we stopped by the local Pescadoria/fish market (my Spanish classes are coming in handy and my dictionary is stained from use), and we picked up dinner.

It was really good! We have done a good bit of cooking in. We have had lemon pepper chicken, fresh green beans, and brown rice...then lobster (caught locally) and baked potatoes, and now we are about to have hamburgers, hot dogs, and salad with Benihana dressing (Jason made of course)!

Today, we toured some during the moring. We think we might have found the Black Sand Beach and then went on to do some body surfing at Navio again and enjoy the laid back Media Luna. At Media Luna I found a new friend.

Obviously, I am not the only one that is a fan of the neon colors for summer!

They are in order of the way that we have seen them so far.

The first is the view from our villa. It is so nice to have a beach that you can enjoy at any time. (I don't think I could stay anywhere else on the island.)

Esperanza was the next stop. This is basically the hangout area with a few bars, restaurants, and a little spot where people set up and sell their creations.

This is the first sunset we saw. It is the beach outside of the villa. What a way to finish your first day on the island!

On Sunday, we started the day with snorkeling at a Pier that is currently closed. We just pulled right up to the gate, jumped out, walked down the rocks, and into the water.

Starfish were every where. I was afraid to put my fins down...I was afraid that I was going to step on one!

We went to waste some time before we had to meet up for the Bio Bay Tour and found Navio Beach. (This could possibly have been the spot were Piggy and Ralph had their first conversation in Lord of the Flies! The movie was filmed mainly on this beach.)

We are at Bio Bay here beginning our tour! This was a true once in a lifetime experience!

Second Round from Vieques

Well, so I left off with the picture of Hardin Point taken from the plane when we were in route from Memphis to Houston.

The next group of pictures were taken after we landed in San Juan. The flight from San Juan was my first true long flight. I was not able to sleep much since the movie they showed was Marley and Me. That story is not for a person that has raised any puppy! It is heart wrenching! I have known this since the story came out, but I decided since I am on the flight I might as well watch it while I am eating the dinner they served! My mistake, I stayed up an additional hour and thirty minutes crying my eyes out, and I did not have my earphones throughout the last half of the movie. I just cried myself to sleep.

John Rosario picked us up in San Juan and took us to the ferry station in Farajado.

(I will have to get a better picture of him on our way back! I was a little nervous about having someone pick us up considering I had only met him online!)

I do not think Jeff remembers much from the ride from San Juan to Farajado! He slept through most of the flight and the ride!

Here we are waiting in the ferry terminal in Farajado. This to me was the beginning of living like a local. It was crazy to see what everyone was traveling with.

Oh the ferry ride...I was ok until the last twenty minutes or so! My problem was when everyone started gettiing up and blocking my views, and a little boy that thought it was funny to walk circles around his Dad who was standing up and swaying back and forth.

Batch Number Four

Well here is batch number four before it was bottled! I think Jason really needs to come up with a name for this stuff. Here are some pictures from the bottling process. I cannot wait to sample this batch. By the way, we get to try another bottle from the third batch tomorrow.

Here Jason is getting the beer out of the fermenter and into the bottling bucket (I don't think there is a fancy German translation for that piece of equipment). I will need to check into that term.
